Let's Pause 🌻
We can lay down the hurry and walk with God.
This week, as I ventured to Maryland for testing, I watched God move in mighty ways, as He always does. He moves every day, right? But there is something about being swept away with Him that seems to illuminate His Presence in 3-D.
Have you ever been on a mission trip? Well, then, perhaps you know what I mean.
It was evident to me as I was swept up in the crowds of people hurrying home on Wisconsin Avenue on Tuesday Evening. Do I look like that? I wondered.
I had to purposely step out of the crowd to stop and see Him. Where are you, God? I asked. And then I saw it, the little girl grabbing her momma’s hand as they navigated a snow-covered curb.
Oh, if only I could pause and see these little blessings every moment of every day, but if I’m honest, I can’t say that I do. Sometimes I allow the world to sweep me away in distractions and fear of an uncertain future, but then I remember Lamentations 3:22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Oh, how good is that promise? That little girl knew her momma's faithfulness as she grabbed her hand. And so do I. Today is a new day for both of us! May I invite you to join me in taking the Father’s hand?
I was going to write about adventures today, but I feel a prompting to sit and wait on the Lord before I share. So today, I am sitting in Psalm 23. It’s time for a pause.
Do you need a pause, too?
Today, I would like to share a prayer prompt to pause with the Lord in Psalm 23. I encourage you to see yourself walking with the Shepherd as you pray. Sit with Him in the green pastures of His peace. Walk with Him alongside the refreshing waters of His presence. Allow Him to refresh and restore you.

Father God, You are Jehovah Shalom, our Perfect Peace. We thank You, Lord, that wherever we are, You are there. Thank You for inviting us into Your story. Lord, we desire to know You more, and not just to know You, but to ginosko You, intimately. I pray for those who join me in this prayer that their walk with You would be fresh and new every day. Help us to see our walk with You as a beautiful opportunity not only to see You move, but to grow closer to You. May we all lay down anything that is not of You, and be still with the Lover of our souls. Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. Thank You for new mercies. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
